Letter to the Editor,
This November 2nd Tama county voters will be selecting a new County Treasurer due to the retirement of long time County Treasurer Sandra Fowler. Michelle Yuska is running for the open position, and it’s clear that Michelle is the candidate in the race with the job experience worthy of our vote. Michelle worked for 10 years at the The Principal Financial Group, an investment firm, administering million dollar investment accounts and managing a team of other professionals in the firm.
For the past 5 years Michelle has worked in the Tama County Treasurers office, so she has 5 years of direct hands on experience in the office she is seeking, having served in the Property Tax, Motor Vehicle and Drivers License departments.
With hands on experience in the Tama county Treasurers office, Michelle will be able to hit the ground running when she is elected to the Treasurers position.
Michelle and her husband Steve were both born and raised in Tama county and both graduated from South Tama County High. Steve and Michelle make their home in Toledo with their three children, Trevor, Allison and Lauren. Michelle has been involved in many community activities, most notably she currently serves on the South Tama County school board. For more details on Michelle’s experience, see her webpage at
Tama county needs a County Treasurer that has experience in managing and investing large sums of money, experience in managing personnel, experience in dealing with the public, and is dedicated to serving the community.
Michelle has a very strong demonstrated history in all those areas, and that’s why I support Michelle for county Treasurer. Experience matters.
I’m confident Michelle will serve Tama county extremely well in the Treasurers position. I hope you’ll join me in voting for Michelle Yuska for Tama County Treasurer.
