TOLEDO CHRONICLE - The Montour Alumni Association hosted their annual banquet May 29th. It was the 129th all-class reunion and the 50th anniversary of the last graduating class of 1960. The banquet was attended by 83 alumni and guests at the Reinig Center, Toledo. Officers were Judy Butler, President; Sandra (Wiese) Fowler, Vice-President; and Kay (Gary) Lowry, Secretary-Treasurer.
The class of 1940 was honored, with four members present. Bonnie Thompson Larson, daughter of Myrtle Booth Thompson, read memories of their school days written by Myrtle Thompson.
Judi Detrich honored the class of 1960, by reading a poem written by Dallas Wiese. The class was the last graduating class of Montour High School. Darren Garrett, son of Ron and Alice Garrett, class of 1960, recalled memories of attending grade school in Montour.
The slate of officers for 2011 are Dale Wiese, President; Judy Butler, Vice-President; Marvin Hoskey, Membership Chairperson and Secretary; and Judi (Durfey) Detrich, Treasurer.
Next year’s banquet will be Sunday, May 29 at the Reinig Center in Toledo, due to a conflict on the Saturday date.
