Parents can provide own school dress code

June 26, 2010
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald
Letter to the Editor:

ATTENTION: Parents of SR./JR. high students, I have been listening to the news this spring of schools across the nation about dress codes in different school settings. After working in the schools for some 9 years now and viewing some (much to be desired) clothing in the schools, I have come up with an idea, just my personal thought.

It will even SAVE you parents MONEY.

When you go out to shop for school this year just buy no brand kaki's and blue jeans that really (FIT up around the waist), not down to the crotches; (some boys do this). Regular button shirts or polo type tops with no lables. This way all the children will be appropriately dressed with no concern as to who is dressed in the best brands. This should be good for a lot of budgets. Less wear and tare on the poor parents that have to foot the bill on (oh my goodness) outfits.

Of course it is only my thoughts.
