Classes of 2010 graduate this weekend at South Tama, Meskwaki high schools

TAMA NEWS-HERALD - A total of 117 graduates are listed as graduates of South Tama High School in the Class of 2010. At Meskwaki Settlement High School, nine students are graduating in the third year of the high school history.

South Tama High

The South Tama graduation takes place at the High School Gymnasium, 1715 Harding, Tama, at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23.

Faculty speaker for commencement is high school Government teacher Seth Koch. Class speakers are Kyle Dirks and Kyle Benda.

Foreign Exchange student Lourenco Villar of Portugal will also speak.

The STC Class of 2010 motto is “Remember yesterday, dream for tomorrow, live for today.” Class colors are black and Columbia blue and the class flower is the white Asiatic lily.

The class song is “Don’t You Forget AboutMe”by Simple Minds.

Meskwaki High

Graduation ceremonies for Meskwaki High School seniors will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 in the Gymnasium at the Settlement School, 1610 305th St., Tama.

This will be the first graduation in the gymnasium of the new high school building opened last year.

A Graduation Potluck is set for 5 p.m. and Graduation Powwow begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 21 at the Sac and Fox Tribal Center.
