April 11, 2010

TAMA NEWS-HERALD - Jensen Vodochodsky, rural Tama, is 11 and never had her hair cut until last Friday afternoon. She chose to do so that day and make it count as she stepped into stylist Anna Johnson’s chair at Pat’s Barber and Style in Toledo.

In memory of family friend Faye Bossman who died on March 15 at age 54, Jensen donated her 17 inches of hair to the ‘Locks of Love.’ The program provides replacement hair pieces to fiancially disadvantaged persons under age 21 who are suffering from long-term medical conditions.

Jensen is the daughter of Danny and Teresa Vodochodsky. She is a 5th grade student at South Tama Elementary School.

Her mother says Jensen was nearly bald until age two but her long locks blossomed after that.
