“We face some difficult times as a state, but in that difficulty lies great opportunity. We must be proactive when it comes to job creation and prudent when it comes to taxpayers’ money,” said Horbach. “I will work to rein in wasteful government spending and make state government more efficient and streamlined.” Horbach attended grade school in Grundy Center and graduated from South Tama High School before attending Iowa State University. Currently, he is an Independent Insurance agent in Marshalltown. Lance and his wife, Jody, have four children and five grandchildren. “Lance is an outstanding leader in the House,” said House Republican Leader Kraig Paulsen. “He is a hard worker who reaches across the party aisle to achieve the best legislation on behalf of the Iowa taxpayer.” In the House, Horbach is the Ranking Member on the Labor committee. He also serves on the Economic Growth and Judiciary committees as well as the Justice Systems Appropriations subcommittee.
