Before Judge Fae Hoover-Grinde:

Desse Autumn Davenport, 31, rural Tama, pled guilty to assault causing bodily injury. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for 10 days swerved, fined $315 and ordered to pay $98 to the Victim Restitution Assistance Plan.

Davenport was originally charged with second degree robbery on Sept. 21, 2008 by Toledo Police Officer Ben Engle. She was accused of assaulting a person in the 100 block of south Main Street and taking the victim’s purse.

Mindy Ellen Whiteman, 43, Dysart, entered written guilty pleas to charges of child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. She received deferred fines totaling $940 and was placed on unsupervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for one year.

Whiteman was originally charged with prohibited acts, child endangerment and possession of marijuana after a search warrant was served at a residence in Dysart by Police Chief Tim Ruroden on Sept. 5.

Eric John Eisele, 25, Lisbon, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of possession of marijuana. He received a deferred jail sentence, was assessed a $315 civil penalty and placed on unsupervised probation.

Eisele was charged on July 5 on U.S. Highway 30 after being observed in the Meskwaki Casino parking lot by security. Meskwaki Nation Police officer Scott Brammer filed the charge.



Guilty pleas to first offense drunken driving-



Lea Ellen Wasekuk, 19, rural Montour, two counts. Sentenced to 90 days in jail on each charge with all but four days suspended to be served concurrently, $1,250 fine on each charge and one year probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Wasekuk was charged by Toledo Police officer Jason Dunagan on July 27 at the junctions of U.S. Highways 63 and 30 and on Aug. 6 by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police officer Scott Brammer in the 1500 block of U.S. 30.

Gerard Francisco-Perez, 31, Tama, and also pled guilty to charges of child endangerment and assault causing bodily injury (domestic abuse). Concurrent sentences of 365 days in jail on each charge with all but two days suspended. Fined a total of $2,190 on the three charges and ordered to complete the Batter’s Education program and placed on one year probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Francisco-Perez was originally charged on Sept. 2 with second offense drunken driving by Tama Police detective John Carr.

Juan Antonio Pecina, 39, Tama, sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for 20 days served, fined $1,250 and ordered to complete Drinking Driver’s course. Pecina was charged on Oct. 12 in the 2800 block of U.S. Highway 63 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff David Rangel.

Dana Lou Gutierrez, 49, Marshalltown, sentenced to 90 days in jail with all but two suspended, fined $1,250 and placed on unsupervised probation to the 6th Judicial Department of Correctional Services for two years.

Gutierrez was charged on June 6 on U.S. 30 four miles west of Toledo by Toledo Police chief Jeff Harnish.





Before Judge Sean W. McPartland:



Donnae Elsie Wanatee, 28, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to first offense drunken driving. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail with all but two days suspended, fined $1,250 or to perform community service and placed on self-supervised probation for one year under the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Wanatee was originally charged with second offense drunken driving by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police officer Lee Posusta on Aug. 21.
