Local NewsSuspicious vehicle leads Toledo Chief to drug bust

TOLEDO CHRONICLE- Three persons from Story City were arrested by Toledo Police Wednesday afternoon ofter a suspicious vehicle incident ended with arrests on drug charges.Toledo Police Chief Jeff Harnish, on routine patrol about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 4) observed a suspicious vehicle near the Twin Town Liquor Store on Highway 30 in Toledo. The vehicle was occupied by three males, and Chief Harnish noticed that after about 15 minutes being parked in the same spot the vehicle was not moving and was still occupied. Chief Harnish approached the car to investigate, and subsequently all three of the occupants were arrested on drug charges after police observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the car. Arrested were Derek Roger Anderson, 20, Dylon Pryce Pritchard, 17, and Jacob Miller, 15, all of Story City. Pritchard and Miller were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and were taken to the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora. Anderson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating while intoxicated-drugged 1st offense. In addition, Anderson is charged with distribution of controlled substance to persons under age 18, a Class “B” felony. Anderson continued to be held in the Tama County Jail on $25,000 bond at noon on Friday. Toledo Police were assisted by Tama Police, Tama County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tama Sheriff’s K-9 unit in this arrest. |
