Throughout the South Tama School District all buildings are working on helping students develop positive character traits.
At the high school within our Advisories we have been focusing upon “attitude” and “preparation” and are now starting to address the trait of perseverance”.
Having the right attitude and being prepared won’t carry us very far if we lack the perseverance to carry a task through to a successful completion.
Would you like to help us learn? We are looking for community members who would be willing to share their story of “perseverance”, Real stories of life are powerful! Perhaps they involve a successful fight against cancer, overcoming a major career challenge, defending this nation overseas, defeating an addiction, or raising a family through tough times.
If you have a story that you think teens could benefit from hearing I urge you to contact me or Jim Platitz at the high school at 484-4345. We will arrange for a friendly informal setting over the noon hour that will meet your comfort level.
Thanks in advance for your help in making this truly a “community” school district. Together we grow!
