Here’s What’s Happening at the Tama County Historical Museum

TOLEDO CHRONICLE - The Tama County Historical and Genealogy Society will meet Wednesday, November 4th at 6:00 pm for a Potluck. Bring a covered dish and shower items for the Museum.

Roll Call will be “Make a suggestion for next year program.” The Computer Committee will give a Website report.

Workday was spent finishing up the newsletter for mailing and sorted out many boxes of obits for Des Moines Register .

Next work day will be Monday, Nov. 16

Visitors to the Museum and Genealogical library were from Grinnell, Manchester, Urbandale, Cedar Rapids, Sioux City, Pleasant Hill, Cumming, Atkins, Leon, Grundy Center, Davenport, Ames, Marshalltown, Bettendorf, Iowa and other towns in Tama County

Out of State Visitors-Bryan, TX; Austin, MN; Tempe, AZ; and Chevy Chase, MD.

And Now you Know—The nationally known band leader, Cato Mann who died in 1977 was a member of a prominent Gladbrook family.

For Sale: Tama County Afghans $35 each or 3 for $100.

Books for Sale: 1987 History of Tama County, 20th Century Czechs, Our Czech Heritage, Hurrah for Bonnie Iowa, Lincoln Highway Map Pack, Clutier Centennial, Elberon Centennial, They Came to North Tama and Toledo 150 Yesterdays.

Museum Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 1-4:30 p.m.

Incase of bad weather the Museum will be closed or close early. Please call first to see if we are open.
