TOLEDO CHRONICLE - Expansion plans for Otter Creek Lake and Park northeast of Toledo got a big boost with the recent awarding of a $296,831 Resource Enhancement and Protection Program (REAP) grant.

A total of some $4.3 million in REAP funding was awarded state-wide.

Plans call for adding land to the east and northeast of the park, adding cabins and other improvements.

The Otter Creek Lake and Park plans also make up part of the Tama County Great Place designation announced earlier this month.

That program makes the project along with four others eligible to apply for state grants, as well.
