Nancy Blocker of Hawkeye Valley Senior Services and the coodinator of Tama County gave an interesting talk on the duties she has to participate in. She has all the towns in Tama County and the Meskwakis in her program. She makes up the registration, daily and monthly reports, all on the computer, this includes 180 names for meals. Stimulus meals of 163 (five packs) have to be delivered or picked up. Besides Nutrition Services, she has information on case management, care giver, Senior Help Line and consumer protection. She prints meal calenders and monthly activities. September is National Senior month. A vote taken by the club was to give a donation to the Nutrition Site.
Poems were read by Loretta Busch, Agnes Podhajsky, Mildred Dostal, Burnadene Kunch and Audrey Dostal.
Bingo was played with hostess Mary Kerkman with everyone receiveing a nice gift. Agnes Podhajsky won Blackout. The next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 5, with Burnadene Kunch and Audrey Dostal as hostesses.
