Four hurt in north Tama County vehicle accidents

TAMA NEWS-HERALD - Three young people were taken by Reinbeck ambulance to Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center following a one-vehicle accident reported at 9 p.m. Friday night.

Cody Foos, 16, Grundy Center, the driver, and passengers Kayla Syhlman, 15, Dike, and Brandon Gage, 16, Holland, were northbound on F Avenue at the Mosquito Creek Bridge when the car went out of control on loose gravel according to the Tama County Sheriff’s Office.

Foos was charged with failure to maintain control.

Charles Hartnell, 64, Montezuma, was transported to Covenant Hospital, Waterloo, by Traer ambulance following an early morning collision north of traer.

A 1976 straight truck driven by Homer Long, 80, Grundy Center, struck Hartnell’s northbound vehicle at the junction of U.S. 63 and Tama County Road D65 the sheriff’s office said.

Long was charged with failure to yield.
