SOUTH TAMA HIGH SCHOOL: Graduation at South Tama High School will be at 2 p.m. this Sunday, May 17, beginning at 2 p.m.
A total of 103 seniors were listed as graduating. See the supplement in this issue of The Chronicle featuring the STC Class of 2009.
For the graduation program, the faculty speaker will be Gary Zmolek. Dylan Bishop will be the class speaker.
Shoichiro Sakai, foreign exchange student from Japa will also speak.
The South Tama Concert Band directed by Mike Carnahan and the Concert Choir under the direction of Serena Eichorn will provide musical selections.
Selected by the Class of 2009 to represent the teaching staff are Lynne Clancy, representing the elementary and Chelsea, George Corum representing the Middle School and BJ Antema representing the High School.

They will be seated on the stage during the graduation exercises representing the entire teaching staff.
High School Principal Jim Tekippe will present academic honor award winners.
Superintendent Kerri Nelson will present the Class of 2009 and School Board members Michelle Yuska, president, Ron Hala, vice president, Jackie Dvorak, Mark McFate and Anne Michael will present the diploma.
The 2009 Class colors are Black and Columbia Blue, the class flower is the Asiatic Lily, the class motto is "Life is a garden...dig it" and tje class song is "Times Like These" by Foo Fighters.
MESKWAKI SETTLEMENT HIGH SCHOOL: Four seniors are scheduled to graduate from Meskwaki Settlement High School this year. This is the third year for the high school's operation on the Settlement west of Tama-Toledo.
Graduation ceremonies will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Settlement School Gymnasium.
The members of the Class of 2009 include Kellen Kapayou, son of Gail and Kevin Kapayou, Zane OldBear, son of Nicole Davenport, Delson Pushetonequa, son of Del Ray Pushetonequa and the late Rhonda Pushetonequa, and Stevie YoungBear, son of Patsy Lasley and Craig YoungBear, Sr.
A graduation Powwow is planned for Saturday, May 23, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Tribal Center sponsored by the Meskwaki Higher Education Program. Grand entry is at 7 p.m.
The Powwow is held in honor of all Meskwaki graduates from high school and college.
