April 24, 2009
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

TAMA NEWS-HERALD (SPECIAL) The Iowa Lincoln Highway Association (ILHA) held its Spring meeting in Carroll on April 11. President Kathy Dirks of Harrison County called the meeting to order with over 30 members in attendance from all thirteen Lincoln Highway counties.

A topic of discussion was progress on the Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway project. Signage for the recently approved state heritage byway was discussed and members voted on their preference for the signs that will eventually be placed by state and local highway departments to mark the route of the historic Lincoln Highway across the state.

Lincoln Highway Program Managers Peter Hoehnle from the Iowa Valley RC&D (Resource Conservation and Development) and Francie O'Leary (M&M Divide RC&D) and RC&D Coordinators John Paulin (Prairie Rivers RC&D) and John Klein (M&M Divide RC&D) were on hand to explain their role in the Lincoln Highway Sustainability Project and how the state Lincoln Highway organization may assist.
