Nieland participates in Theatre Central’s Chantecler

PELLA- Jen Nieland, sophomore at Central College, is a member of Theatre Central's production of Chantecler. Jen is the daughter of Dennis and Tina Nieland, Tama and a graduate of South Tama High School. Performances are Wednesday-Saturday, March 4-7, in Kruidenier Main Theatre at Central College. The family friendly show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for students and senior citizens and free with Central I.D. For tickets call 641-628-5335.

Chantecler, the story of a heroic barnyard Romeo, is a new children's play written by Jon Berry in collaboration with Central College theatre instructor Ann Wilkinson. Adapted from the original work by Edmond Rostand, Chantecler is an allegorical animal story filled with humor, drama and romance. Puppets join the live action on state and guarantee the piece will be fun for the whole family.

Chantecler features puppets created with the help of the Eulenspiegel Puppet Theater Co. of West Liberty.
