Books and cash were presented to the Toledo Library for children books at the Feb. 10 meeting of the Toledo GFWC-Woman's Club. The club met for a regular meeting at the library with Marlene Eernisse and Karen Havran as hostesses.
Ann McMullin presented a book report using books about Winnie the Pooh Bear written by A.A. Milne and compared poems and readings to the lines of "A Collect For Club Women" written by Mary Stewart. Roll call was answered by 13 members naming a book they have read recently. President Floriss Adair read a quote from Napoleon "Show me a family of readers and I will show you a people who move the world." She also led the Pledge of Allegiance.
A thank you note was read by Fern Dowd from Bryant Cottage at IJH for gifts presented after Christmas. Bingo workers who worked at Sunny Hill Jan. 26 were Shirley Otterman, Marlene Eernisse, Floris Adair, Illa Jean Bratton and Ann McMullin. Volunteers to help Earlene Bacon play Bingo at Carrington Place Feb. 27 will be Shirley Otterman, Roberta Dostal, Sharon Yuska, Floriss Adair, Ila Jean Bratton and Marlene Eernisse.
Joanne Yuska told about the struggle of Lilly Ledbetter to get equality for women wages in employment for the Federation News. President Adair announced the March 10 meeting will be held in the home of Ann McMullin with Arlene Gerlach as co-hostess. The program will be using former Toledo Woman's Club program books as a creative writing memory. Happy Dollars were collected.
