Due to inclement weather the Tama-Toledo Eagles Auxiliary did not meet on Jan. 12, however, the regular slated meeting for Jan. 26 was called to order by Madam President Delores Calkins. February chairman Verna Funke reported the annual Valentine perty meeting will be held Feb. 9. All members are urged to attend and bring a $5 gift for the exchange after the short meeting and in all probability a delicious lunch.
A thank you letter from Kylie Willson was read for the donation toward her trip to Washington D.C. to witness the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States. It was voted to send a $50 donation to the annual Project Prom.
Reports of the soup and sandwich nights and the Jan. fish fry were given by Carleen Corum and Cheryl Kupka respectively. The trustees reported on the upcoming events. Jan. birthdays were noted with a "Happy Birthday Song" for Kathy Bennett and Brenda Youngbear. The usual drawing was held and Mary Jane Nekola was the winner.
The Iowa State F.O.E. Aerie and Auxiliary presidents have chosen for their project this year "The Heart Connection" for children with cancer. Money raised will give young children with the disease and their siblings and parents a chance to spend a week at camp together. A joint meeting of the local Aerie and Auxiliary will be he held Feb. 9, 6 p.m. for those who are in the process of finalizing plans for the upcoming charity project day to be held Sat., March 21. The two state presidents John Goffinet, Monticello and Rochelle McKay, Ft. Dodge will be guests of honor on this day. The charity president will also be present namely Joe Roe, Iowa City and Nellie Morehead, Toledo along with other visitors from around the state.
