Being one of the first classes to be "bussed" to Tama, your column interested me. Your sister Mary Sue was in my class. Not the first 8 yrs, because she was at Catholic school, but our freshman year the catholic kids came to CHS our class doubled, and we had a great group. Had a really "fun" year. Then came our sophmore year...bussed to Tama, we rode into town on "our" bus, changed busses/drivers, met the Tama bus out at Ledvina's, changed drivers again and went on to Tama. Many memories take me back. Telephone office, where there was what I guess would later have been called the first telephone booth in the corner and the "operator" plugged in all those neat pull up cords to connect people. Your dads store (remember Mary Sues pet squirrel??) Later the horrible fire that took down that huge building. My uncle Harolds store, the café (Hines then Ledbadas)Popcorn Annie, walking from Grandmas to "the store" the back way, your moms
