if the indians hadn't screwed tama and toledo so bad, then i might not be for the cr casino, but the fact is, they promised all kinds of good jobs and business opportunities to us then after we built a couple hotels they put up their own. Not to mention the gas station and resturant aspect of it. And the reality? They do nothing for the community. I can't wait for cedar rapids to get a casino

If people like “Robin Hood” hadn’t screwed with our people so bad, then I might feel for his position, but the fact is, they will never be satisfied with the number of good jobs and business opportunities the casino provides. Not to mention the added traffic to the Tama-Toledo area. And the reality? They do nothing for the Settlement. A Cedar Rapids casino? I won’t hold my breath.

business opportunities???? HA!! This column is on the front page of the paper on the left side, the main article on the front page is one hoping for the "revitalization" of the tama area. Tama is desperately seeking and begging people for help keeping Tama alive, what business opportunities are there? As soon as there is any type of an opportunity then the meskawkis just build that business themselves. And bringing people to the tama area?? really?? have you not seen the bypass?? and my people screwed with your people? you don't even know who i am! but the fact is, you have been repaid a million times over for whatever you felt was taken from you, you had thousands of years to civilize america, i am sorry if "my people" had to step in and do in 75 years what "your people" never did. I bet you're all too happy to have central heat and air in your house, and indoor plumbing, you don't seem to mind that "my people" gave you that. And jobs? I imagi

Business opportunities are out there Mr. Robinhood. It’s the entrepreneur’s job to capitalize on them. The casino is a statewide destination attracting people from local towns and those willing to drive over an hour to get there. Maybe a shuttle service would be a good business opportunity? Do you have an idea for a business venture? About the bypass, was that our idea? If so, I was unaware of that fact. You refer to my “screwed” comment by stating “you don’t even know who i am”. It’s interesting that you’ve just now come to this realization. If only this epiphany came to you before you decided to type your initial post as if you knew us. I believe your comment on doing things (air, plumbing, etc.) for us may be based on a sense of superiority. You feel your way is better than our way. Considering the state of the environment, that sentiment is debatable. Your initial post implied that the casino didn’t create job opportunities. Your reaching there don’t you think?
